Gta Iv For Windows 7
I want to install GTA 4 on Windows 7 64 bit. How should i do that?????
Hi Wanna-Be, While searching on the Grand Theft Auto 4 website I did not find any information related its compatibility with the Windows 7. I would suggest that you try to install the game using the compatibility mode on the setup.exe file on the game and try to install the game and check. To run the Program Compatibility troubleshooter 1.
Open the Program Compatibility troubleshooter by clicking the Start button, and then clicking Control Panel. In the search box, type troubleshooter, and then click Troubleshooting.
Under Programs, click Run programs made for previous versions of Windows. Follow the instructions in the troubleshooter. If you cannot install a program, insert the installation disc for the program and, using the troubleshooter, browse to the program's setup file, usually called Setup.exe, Install.exe, or something similar. The troubleshooter is not designed to work on programs that have an.msi file name extension. Also refer: If you still cannot install the game then for additional support post your query in the game forum using the below link: Hope this helps! Halima S - Microsoft Support.

QUOTE (gamerzworld @ Dec 12 2008, 12:18) I'll try it sometime this weekend and report back. I have the PDC build, not the leaked build though. EDIT: I haven't tried this but try starting the installer using compatibility mode. I tried this but still say the same warning message. I'm at work now but it says smething like 'Windows%P is not supported, please click in the link below to see more details'.
In this case the link is a M$ banner but it doesnt work. I change the registry to make Windows think that I'm using a SP3 of a Windows, so, it shows in the System properties 'Windows 7 SP3 but it doesnt work too. Ps: What is the difference between the leaked version of 7 and the PDC? Since that%P error shows up when you don't have the correct service package, and if anything windows 7 should be recognized as vista and not xp, and vista's requirements are SP1.
QUOTE (jeff69dini @ Dec 12 2008, 12:37) haha, I have been running it for a while now and it is smoother than Vista, just install using Windows XP Service pack 2 compatibility mode, weird I know but it works!!! Also you may get an error with the c installer towards the end, just cancel that, let the regualr game install go through, then install the c redistributable at the end, I even use it with my windows xbox 360 controller! Have you had problems using the compatibility with some programs? Most things (all except 1 app) that I've tried to run in compatibility have caused crashed, including GTA4 install.
Probably just my copy, but wondering if anybody else had this issue.
