It seems that DICE are taking their time to fix this issue, I wonder if they ever will, and whether it will benefit me to give them more money for their poor service. Yesterday, on the 3rd of November 2013, I tried to put Battlefield on, the system showed me a message that there is a new patch available (1.09), so I started downloading it, due to having a slow internet connection, it takes me an hour to get it downloaded.

After the patch downloads, it is time to have it installed, after a couple of percentage through the installation process I receive an error, and my Battlefield 3 game gets corrupted, which means I cannot re-install the patch, I have to go to Playstation Store, download the game again (13GB, which takes half a day to download), which I just did today (4th November 2013), I have downloaded the patch again, but I am afraid to install it. I have realised that there is another corrupted file on my saved data, (second option from the top in the game option), which I am trying to delete, which is taking a very long time. In other forums, related to this issue, one person said that this corrupted file, which occurred after the Battlefield patch 1.09 failed, needed to be deleted, and he wrote that after downloading the patch, it was installed correctly. I am now at the stage of deleting that corrupted file, which is doing it now for 20 minutes, and I hope that it successfully deletes this data and I will be able to install that patch.

Good job Dice, good luck with gaining new battlefield players, and keeping your existing once. I was considering to purchase Battlefield 4 soon, but guess what, that is not happening any time soon:).

I have managed the delete the corrupted file in the 'Game Data Utility', which took about an hour, and I managed to install the 1.09 patch without any problems. The steps I took are as follows; After my game file was corrupted due to the patch fail, I had removed my game data, and accessed Playstation Store to download it again. After the game finished downloading, I had installed it and then I went to the 'Game Data Utility' folder, which is in the 'Game' Section of the Playstation menu, there was a file which became corrupted, there was no name for it, I figured it got something to do with Battlefield 3 patch, as it appeared after the 1.09 failed to install. I have deleted this file, which took about an hour, and I began to download and install the Battlefield 3 1.09 patch, which was a success. I would to mention that I have not played much of Battlefield 3, so if I had deleted any profile saved, it would not affect me much, as opposed to people who play it regularly.

I am not sure whether any saved data was corrupted too. I hope this will help some people, and hopefully DICE will fix this massive issue.

So as you can see there are a few new things on top of the massive amount of fixes. For those of you who missed the the other day here they are again: FIXES FOR PC SERVER OPERATION - Having the same map occur multiple times in the maplist now works properly - If adding a new map to the servers maplist after a clear and then running “mapList.runNextRound” the server will ignore any remaining rounds on the map that it still run since before the clear and move to the new first map in the list. The server will now have reset the current rounds per map and run the map in the list for the number of rounds stated when adding the map.

Maplist can contain up to 1000 entries now - mapList.list will return at most 100 entries. To get the entire list, perform mapList.list repeatedly with increasing offsets (like banList.list) GENERAL GAMEPLAY FIXES -Players should no longer take fall damage from short falls.Players now get up from Prone slightly faster, allowing better odds of getting away from a grenade or threat when prone.Fixed some situations that would unintentionally make a player unrevivable.Reduced the black screen fade in time on spawn. The fade is still necessary for properly streaming in loading content at spawn, but it has been substantially reduced.Increased the spawn protection time from 1sec to 2sec.

The protection will still be immediately canceled as soon as the player moves or shoots.Spawn protection will no longer be canceled by the player looking around.Increased the speed at which a player regains accuracy when aiming after moving for a more responsive experience.
